Honda 2-Wheelers India in association with Tamil Nadu State Police has kicked off the road safety awareness drive. It began at Tamil Nadu Police Academy located at Kellambakkam High Road Vandalur (Oonamanchery) in Chennai. The Tamil Nadu State Police has given responsibility to the company to initiate a road safety awareness programme for newly recruited sub-inspectors of the state. Beginning from April 28, 2022, the 9-days awareness drive on how to be safe on roads will sensitize nearly 1000 newly recruited sub-inspectors of Tamil Nadu.


The awareness drive was kicked-off in the august presence of Dr. A. Amalraj (Indian Police Service Officer & Assistant Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu) and Sh. Prabhu Nagaraj (Operating Officer - Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India) and other dignitaries from Tamil Nadu Police and HMSI. The 3.5-hours training program will educate the participants through the theory session on road rules & regulations, road signs & markings, driver’s duties on road, riding gear & posture explanation and safe riding etiquettes. This will be followed by training on Honda’s virtual riding simulator to experience nearly 100 possible dangers on road before actual riding.

Elaborating on spreading road safety awareness Mr. Prabhu Nagaraj, Operating Officer - Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said, “HMSI salutes the Tamil Nadu Police who is working rigorously to protect the citizens. With this road safety awareness drive, HMSI expresses its gratitude to them and wants to ensure their safety on roads by educating them on important aspects of road safety. We thank Tamil Nadu Police for extending their support to us in educating the new sub-instructors to not only be responsible road users but also help in enforcement. Moving forward, we will continue to expand our road safety initiatives for creating more responsible road users.”
